Strawberry Festival

June 15, 2016

Each year the LCGC is very happy to participate in the Christ Episcopal Church "Strawberry Festival". It is one small way the group can say thank you to Christ Episcopal for the use of their excellent facilities for weekly rehearsals. This year the group presented a mix of songs from previous perfromancs this season and had a great time performing two combined pieces with the Lockport Chorale.

Lockport Cruise Night

May 23, 2016

It was a privelage to perform at the Lockport Optimists Club's Memorial Day Cruise Night. With many members of our own having served in the armed forces, it is always an honor to recognize America's service men and women, especially when it also helps an organization as great at the Optmists Club. The evening included some songs from earlier in the season as well as a few new patriotic pieces honoring our American heroes.

April 23, 2016

An event 50 years in the making! The Lock City Glee Club's 50th Spring Sing Concert was a huge success.Wanting to shine some light on those who have supported us at every performance and through every rehearsal over the course of 50 years, our concert was titled "50 Years of Music: A Lifetime of Love". The songs covered various genres and styles from the past 50 years, all focused on those we hold dear. Additionally, we were happy to feature a number of other performers we have worked with in the past including: the Amherst Red Blazers, tenor, John Clayton, The Barker Chamber Choir and the Lockport Lovelies, a group of Glee Club wives, daughters, mothers and friends. The performance also featured a video, filmed by LCTV, of interviews with Glee Club couples about what the group has mean to them in the past.

Lock City Glee Club Christmas Concert Series

December 6, 13 and 15, 2015

This seasons concert series was a real treat. We were given the opportunity to perform our music on three seperate occasions, in Lockport and North Tonawanda. Performing music that spanned well over 50 years, we decided to focus on some wonderful pieces that very rarely get radio play. The result was a truly unique Lock City concert that we are happy to have shared with our Lockport community and beyond.

"Welcome Home" - Spring Sing 2015

April 25, 2015

Once again the Lock City Glee Club was proud to present its annual Spring Sing concert at the Palace Theatre on Main Street in Lockport. With the Glee Club approaching 50 years of performance in Niagara County, we decided to commemorate our growing and thriving choral community with the theme "Welcome Home". At this performance we built a musical home; starting with songs of solitude and leading into swelling tunes of community. The concert featured a range of musical styles including: art songs, symphonic chorales, sea shanties, folk songs, spirituals and popular music from the 60s, 70s and today. We were also proud to premier two compositions by LCGC member Don Copley. The concert also featured a full set of songs by the Barker Chamber Choir: a sextet of high school students singing in the style of groups like The King Singers and Chanticleer. As a not-for-profit, the Spring Sing is the Lock City Glee Club's main fundraiser for the year and we are proud to announce that thanks to our wonderful communty of supporters, it was a real success. Thank you all for letting us musically say, "Welcome Home".

Local reenactors, regional politicians and several musical groups helped to make the night one to remember for the next 150 years. Drew & Molly Burke's Wedding

February 14, 2015

It was an honor to have the Lock City Glee Club perform at the wedding of conductor Drew Burke and his new wife Molly (Timm) Burke. While many weddings can boast a beautiful soloist for one or two songs, the Glee Club undertook the difficult task of preparing the entire two hour, all sung, Antiochian Orthodox liturgy. With a small guest list, the Glee Club arrived in numbers larger than the other attendees and even braved a mid-February blizzard to do so. The group sounded beautiful and the couple coud not have asked for a more wonderful start to their happy marriage.
